To my dearest son, Larry Jr.,
Ever since I was a little girl I always dreamed of how my
future would turn out and what it would be like to grow into an adult. I dreamt
the day that I would find and marry the perfect man, your father, and begin a
family of my own. To be able to witness an infant, with my genes, grow from a
fetus in my womb to a mature adult would be my ultimate success.
After dad and I became financially stable in both of our
professional careers, we decided it was time to expand the family. On June 24th
2020 when your father and I saw you for the first time, we experienced a
new kind of joy that is so hard to put into words, it was unforgettable. One
day, if you are lucky enough, you will experience the same joy of bringing your
own little one into this world.
While we were filled with this new excitement, we understood
the responsibility that would follow. Once you were born, there was a lot of
adjusting your father and I had to do. The extra load of responsibility
required us to be flexible with our hours, making sure we were able to provide
for food, clothes, our home, and other necessities that may come our way, while
leaving room to spend as much time with you as humanly possible. Dad and I knew
that getting married and starting a family is what we wanted, and we weighed
our pros and cons to prepare us for any challenges that we may face. That is
why we decided to successfully accomplish our goals in our career and become
financially established, so that money would be the last thing we would have to
worry about as a family. You are a strong-willed and the most intelligent 18
year old I know and I could not have been happier to see how mature you have
grown. Turning 18 is not just a turning point for you in your life, but also
for us as parents. You are living proof that love, care, support, and attention
is what made our parenting skills legitimate.
I am so proud of you. I trust that you will always follow
your passion, no matter what it may be, as long as you understand the pros/cons
of your decisions. I wish for you to be successful in your future career and to
learn to be financially stable as you mature with age, and to ultimately be
happy. Always have a hungry appetite for learning, for this curiosity could
lead you to infinite possibilities.
Loving You Always,
Mom

Dear Mom and Dad,
Everything
that I have accomplished so far would not have occurred without your full love,
support, and dedication towards being hard workers. Both of you have taught me
love, sacrifice, sharing, respect for myself as well as others, and most
importantly have set the basis for my morals. My motivation comes from watching
how hard it may have been raising me and my older sister while still being hard
workers to provide everything for the family. Your non-selfish ways are a
lesson in itself, for you both would rather supply your two children with toys
and luxuries rather than to spend it for yourselves, because seeing us happy
makes you happy.
Although I would not change a thing
about the way you two have raised me, I always felt a sense of over security.
Growing-up I felt a bit socially awkward and shy. I feel that this
characteristic came from my mom and dad being over protective of their youngest
little girl and this hindered my experiences in expanding my social skills. I
noticed that this made me feel as though I lagged behind others who were
similar to my age. However, at the time I did not feel as though I was being
too protected from the ‘real world’, but I do now understand where you two are
coming from. Losing two children before me is a moment no parent ever wishes to
undergo, yet both of you have endured that loss before I was born. I can only
imagine how heavy hearted you two have felt and I understand how this
experience has changed your ways of parenting.
Through my growth from a young
child into a young adult, both of you have mainly influenced my social and
moral development. Being Catholic parents with Catholic values, my basis and
structure for my morals were molded. As parents, you two have set the
foundation of my values and as I grow and endure my own experiences, I continue
to build the blueprint for my morals.
I never
say this enough, but thank-you! Thank-you for always being there for me and
supporting me no matter what choices I have made. Thank-you for loving me and
my sister to the fullest without making us feel less loved than the other.
Thank-you for being the best parents and child could possibly ask for.
Thank-you, especially, for giving me the gift of life and the potentials of
having a successful future!
With All My Love,
Your youngest daughter
